Duetta Signature (restored) for sale

Postby ThingMan on Fri Apr 12, 2013 11:19 am

In my current small living room I have to downscale the audio.
I therefore offer my Duetta Signature speakers for sale, though with pain in the heart...

* Both the D-sig's membranes have been replaced by official installer Henk van der Hoeven with the original Graz membranes.

* The loudspeaker frames have been reinforced by Henk during restoration.

* The covers are new. Made by Henk during restoration.

* The original crossovers have been discarded and were upgraded and externally mounted. Upgrade components are all Jantzen Superior-Z caps and Jantzen Waxcoil.

* Crossovers are optionally sold with the speaker, in case passive use is planned.

Of course the speaker is set up properly for serious listening.

Price, with upgraded crossovers (for passive use): €4000,-
Price, without crossovers (for active use only): €3500,-

For Dutch speaking readers: there's also an ad with 8 more photos on "Marktplaats": http://link.marktplaats.nl/665887458

Some photos...

Well, less can indeed be more. I'm better off with a Stage in this room...

ThingMan,
I take it your are located in Europe. Do you think it is feasible to ship to the US? Which version of the ribbons are installed?

Correct, I live in the Netherlands, George.
Shipment to the US would require a pair of custom made crates. Apart from that shipping would be feasible. Problem is: I don't have such crates...

The mrtw has been replaced about two years ago, right after Graz announced a new generation of them. I have no idea which version it is, but Graz and / or Henk will probably know.

Congrats and pity at the same time.
Wonderful speakers.

Have they gone to the states or do they remain in good old europe? Is the new owner member of this forum?
I hope you will be happy with the stages and that they don't start to buzz...

Cheers, christoph

Actually they're still here, but they will leave before the end of the month.
They remain in the Netherlands. The new owner is not a member of this forum.

By the way, Christoph, I don't have the Stage anymore. All I have is a pair of tiny active speakers. I have no idea what I'm gonna buy in return, only that I want to downscale...

Hey Thingman, picked up an old post of yours about Duetta's for sale. Im sure you already sold them and my topic is unrelated but thought I would give it a shot asking you a question if you have time and pick it up before I go out with an old subjective topic of active V. passive XO. Sorry but did not see an email for you to private message.

I'm new to the forum. Proud owner of Duetta II's that were renewed with Graz ribbons by, Bill Thalmann. Thank you Graz and Bill. Cross-overs also done and upgraded to D-Sigs . They sound really good. I am in Maryland USA so I am lucky to have Music Technology and Bill Thalmann close by.

Did you ever run your D-Sigs with active XO set up? was it worth it? The end all be all?..:). I know others variables impact things but just trying to get a feel. I am going to try it for some fun winter work and most likely use a Marchand but not sure yet. Bill is helping me out with crossover points, etc. if and when I decided to get into it. Bill did a project with Full Range's that he said turned out well but had not heard any, Duetta's.

Thanks for any perspective. Mike
