2011 - the story so far...

How is your 2011? In all my life I have never seen a year like this on earth. What's your story/perspective?

Can't start a thread like that, Graz, without offering your perspective first!

A few good things have happened, still struggling with a few things.
But still, there seem to always be some damn killing somewhere.
Last thing that happened was that some psycho (lost for words) killed a lot of people dressed as a police man in Norway.
But apart from that, it has so far been a "regular" year... a few months left though.

Just spent two separate stretches in the hospital, for chest pains that turned out to be anxiety / employment based rather than cardiac based. The entire affair was ultimately nothing more than a comedy of errors - and took place while an earthquake and hurricane were messing with the East Coast of the USA.

We truly live in 'interesting times' - and IMHO, they're about to get a lot more 'interesting'.

All my dear Apogee Forum friends,

2011 has been a long and sad year for me. In case you had not noticed, I have not been participating in the Forum for a long time (many months). The reason for this was that my beloved wife Caroline, after a long battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, passed away in June at the young age of 47. She was on hospice the last few weeks of her life, and she passed at home surrounded by her family and closest friends. She was the strongest person I have ever met, and I was blessed to have had her in my life for nearly 6 years. I have many wonderful memories to help comfort me along with the strong support of many family / friends, but only my faith truly sustains me during this time of deep sadness. I can not put into words the heaviness of my heart, and sometimes I wonder how I will go on.

I know that I must experience the grief process; that there is no way around it. Although I hope to regain some sense of "normalcy" in the coming months, I fear that I no longer know what that is. Perhaps the love of music that we shared will be the healing salve for my grieving soul.

For now, I am attempting to "reconnect" with friends, visit my granddaughter more often, and stay busy attending to fiscal matters as life goes on. Perhaps with time, I will again be more active on this forum.

Warm regards,

Joe Rubini (rube)

P.S. - I tried posting a picture of my beloved Caroline for all of you to enjoy, but it is not working for some reason. Here is the URL if you would like to see her as I will remember her...

Joe, we've never met, I've never met your wife but this news hits me. At this place all I can say is, I hope you find comfort in your Apogees.

Joe - that is absolutely awful. You must be going out of your mind, I can still remember speaking with you soon after you two had met...

Matt - sane people feeling the current pulse of the planet are susceptible to overload. I understand where you are at!

Guys - we are long overdue a chat on the phone...

Take care - Graz
