Plinius SA250 Mk IV with Scintilla 1 ohm

Postby westerml on Mon Oct 07, 2019 10:39 pm

Thinking about a Plinius SA250 Mk IV to drive my, Scintillas. Anyone still using Plinius? Looking for any feedback and your experience and/or any other current good options for Scintilla 1ohm. Thanks.

I've always used Krell amps to drive my Caliper, Duetta's, and now Diva's. Never had Scintilla''s, but would imagine they would work well with them too. Unfortunately, I'm absolutely no help about the Plinius. :? :?

I had a Plinius 250 blow the left channel, was the orginal amp, prefer Krell, Bryston, or H2O which have been running my Scin 1 ohm for last 15yrs on 24hrs a day :)

westerml, for some reason I can't reply to your PM.

Vince Galbo did the mods to my Plinius back in the day. I thought he was in the NY area - maybe he's moved? Pretty sure I found him through the Plinius site and I recall he was the authorised dealer.

Can't say I've listened to the Scinnie/Plinius combo much since the time of the post you quoted. Long story, Graz knows part of it...
