Apogee Acoustics

2010 passed by so fast I can hardly believe we are half way through Jan 2011!! I have been very quiet in this forum, and have been more concentrating on workshop tasks and what has been a long term "secret" project that actually started back in 2007. This will finally take shape as an all new Apogee sometime during the first quarter of this year. As it is similar in dimensions to a Duetta Signature in many ways, for that reason I have decided to call it a Duetta. Construction is entirely different to it's predecessors though, many new features.

There were 2 identical Duetta prototypes in 2007, this being the start of the project. One day I will tell the story in here, not now! That 2007 format has been well and trully scrapped in favor of the new Duetta that will be called DUETTA ENCORE now. A whole different speaker

Congrats Graz for keeping the brand name alive and kicking with this new Duetta Encore introduction. Will these DE be sold direct or through high-end audio stores? In Montreal we had a great Apogee retailler that is still around (Filtronique). But I guess you will be looking for distributors worldwide that will take care of the retail channel.

Will the new features introduced in this DE design impact the way you refurbish the older DS? If so, in which manner? I wish you the best success with this brand new baby!

Okay, okay, so I forgot about the Duetta Encore name having already been selected. No matter - Encore is a better name, anyway.

I don't know how much you are prepared to reveal, Graz, but a list of the differences would be very interesting. As would some detailed, close up shots.

Hopefully someone in the hi-fi press will take an interest, and maybe even review a pair. Maybe Mr Kessler, Scintilla lover number 1, would like to do so.

Can't do that just yet! I have been considering/refining these for a while, on the last details of the MRTW ribbon at present. Something for most everybody with these. Even Swedes.

Much has happened since this post a WHOLE YEAR AGO, as some are aware. A few days after (Jan 18th 2011) some bizarre treachery came to light that has yet to reach a resolution. This has prevented a formal release of the speaker(s). The source was from long-trusted individuals that were in fact working to damage my work. One has since extracted himself from this process and sincerely apologised (accepted), the other person remains, still under delusions he will be profit from me for his crimes. The legal process continues...

As for the speaker referred to - I am making these. Some have them. Once the admin rubbish is behind me I will release the speaker publicly, and no doubt the whole disgusting story will be told. A real waste of a year, time, and resources...
