EQing out resonances

Postby Sfdoddsy on Sun Mar 03, 2013 11:15 pm

My Duetta Sigs have arrived and sound very nice.

But I was wondering how others handle the large peak at 40Hz or so?

I'm EQing it at the moment, but theoretically adding a high pass of the right slope would work as well.

Are these new ribbons? If so I would let them break in a while before doing much. If old ribbons (broken in) I would try different room locations, or Tube Traps in the corners.

Have fun ;)

No, they are old ribbons. It's the same resonance you can see in old reviews. In my case just below 40Hz.

My room reinforces bass, so I suspect EQ may be the only way to tame it.
