Work in progress

Postby Al^ on Sat Dec 29, 2012 6:31 pm

I just started to work on this room a couple a weeks ago, what I thought was gonna be easy turned out not so. Seems when they built it they nailed 1/2" plywood on the 2x6's first than put 1/4" layer of 4'x8' cork board, then on top that 1x2's spaced 2" apart than Arbourite glued to the 1x2's. So I ripped all arbourite and 1x2's off and gyproced over the cork. ceiling is all acoustic tile, so gonna leave that alone, under the tile is cork as well. I hope one day to get it finished and put my Diva's in it. The room is 33'3"w x 82'4"l, first ceiling is 10'3" and goes 16' to first glue lam beam than goes to 12'3"h with a glue lam every 13' after that. The beams add a nice look and help with reflections. So here's a pic, look's a mess, but as stated , a work in progress. cheers

Should be great when you finish.

Wow - Massive job!
Huge area - "That's not a room - this is a room".

 Are you going to call it "Al's Auditorium" ?
I don't drink too much coffee - you're listening too slowly.

Al, are the Divas capable of driving the entire room??? Or, are you limiting them to a smaller area?
