Hello boys,
Just completed the installation of 2 Bybee speaker bullet kits since I operate in bi-wired mode. The job took me 4 hours since I had to think about best way to install these with minimal impact on my DS external Xover that I've built 2 years ago. These babies are not easy to place since they are somewhat large devices similar to a big capacitor.

Once the job done, there was no regrets. I've listened to a few of my favorite CD's and the result is the following: pitch black background, increase in stage width and depth, increase in perceived dynamics, greater music resolution and increase in low level spatial cues. I am no longer listening to music, I am inside the music.
Another strange phenomenom happening is that everytime I have inserted the Bybee devices (Benchmark DAC/Pre, Krell amps and DS) I have reduced my listening audio volume by a notch at each mod install. I was typically listening to a 12 o'clock volume control position before the mods. Now I have it to a 9-10 o'clock position to provide same audio volume. This is not a psychomatic effect but a real one. I like to listen to my music at a relative loud level without being an annoying level. I also suffer from minor Tinnitus disfunction on my left ear, so I want to crank the music to the max level my left ear can afford, without my ear buzzing. Now I need to leave it at the 9-10 o'clock position to get same audio volume. My theory is that our brain likes to hear music at a specific level over the electrical noise level to perform better decoding of music content. Since the Bybee is getting rid of some noise level, I do not need to crank the volume so high anymore. My 2 cents...
